Well she did it! After trying to jump from a plane in Wanaka, Sandy finally got her wish in Lake Taupo! On the way back to Auckland we decided to stop at the Wikite Valley thermal pools again for one last soak. There we met a couple of ‘crazy’ French dudes who were going to skydive in Taupo the next day. That’s all they had to say and we, rather Sandy, joined them.
15000ft, 200km per hour and a 60 second freefall later Sandy landed and was buzzing, ready to go again - she’s crazy!

Live from a Geothermal spa
Thinking of you all from the Waikite Valley Thermal Pools.
It was -2 degrees outside, 42 degrees inside, what a way to start the day!
We were tipped off about this place while in Rotorua. It’s just off the road to Taupo from Rotorua and well worth the detour. If you have a camper they also have powered sites so you can stay the night and make full use of the pools!
